The theme of Jared Eliot Middle School is "Soar to Succeed". Our mission is to create a learning environment which supports and encourages students to acquire knowledge and develop skills to become productive, contributing and respectful members of a diverse society. Jared Eliot's record of powerful learning for young adolescents and consistent observance of best middle school practices prepares students to be independent and collaborative learners empowered to embrace the future.
A few of Jared Eliot's outstanding qualities are teaming, flexible scheduling, standards based instruction, appropriate grouping practices, smaller teams, interdisciplinary instruction, multiple intelligence's, active hands-on classrooms and parent involvement. Permeating this culture and the school's environment is the deep concern for, and understanding of, the young adolescents being served. Additionally, Jared Eliot Middle School offers a range of extracurricular activities including three-season sports, After Hours activities such as Robotics, Cooking, Math Counts Club and DJ Club, as well as school socials and family-oriented events like Pasta Night, the Walk-A-Thon and Book Chats. Jared Eliot Middle School received the NELMS Spotlight School Award in 2012.
